Kiss the Rain

Kiss the rain
Whenever you need me
Kiss the rain
Whenever I'm gone too long
If your lips feel lonely and thirsty
Kiss the rain
And wait for the dawn
Keep in mind
We're under the same sky
And the night's
As empty for me as for you
If you feel
You can't wait till morning
Kiss the rain
Kiss the rain
Kiss the rain

It's not often I blog skins. I generally stick to the same brand (Glam Affair) and change up my look with makeup. I also have a beautiful black skin from Elysium that I love to wear sometimes, for both runway, print and blogging work. So today's post is a bit of departure for me, because it features a new skin from October's 4Seasons, just released for The Couturiers Dock.

When I try a new skin, I am always impressed if it "fits" straight out of the box, and looks good without me needing to tweak my shape at all. And this one does!  The Limited Edition Angelina Milk  comes with several eyebrow and makeup options - I chose to go for the "no brow no makeup" version, and used the Open Tooth Tattoo layer option which has a very pretty slightly open mouth effect. I added some eyeliner and no-alpha lashes, but have no other makeup on. I love the soft freckles and definition on this skin - and it's certainly one I would wear again. It's available exclusively as a limited edition at The Couturiers Dock right now, and when I went to check there were only 43 copies left - so don't miss your chance to grab it!

Also at The Couturiers Dock this month is this beautiful Gown from Bodza Blackadder of Whimsical Imaginarium. The White Swan has a stunning rigged mesh victorian style corset with pretty rose details on the bust and hip, and a full flex skirt of white feathers. It's lovely work, and would make a great wedding gown.

The Couturiers Dock is a monthly event where a select group of SL fashion designers release high quality items in limited editions. Well worth checking out every month!

Look of the Day 16.10.14

After a couple of manic weeks, I finally got some time to shop, and found some great stuff! I'm loving the new suit from Coco released at this months FaMESHed. The hand in pocket design is just perfect, and such a great idea for this soft, drapey jacket. There's a men's version too, at The Men's Dept (TMD), which is where I found the fabulous necklace from Mandala, and the glasses from SORGO. I visited the Cosmetics Fair too, which has a Halloween theme this round, and also includes HAIR!!!

Feeling groovy

There's been a lot of sixties fashion influence showing on the runways this year, so it's no surprise that some of the designers at the Vintage & Cool Fair have turned to that iconic decade for their inspiration. I decided to channel my inner Twiggy and put together a groovy look from items found at the fair for you today.

Have you checked out the Pantone Colour Trends Report for Fall 2014 yet? Based on the New York Fashion Week Spring shows, that feature designers collections for the following Fall, Pantone aim to predict what the key colours will be for the season - and of course,  this in turn influences what we find on the high street, as retailers pick up on the trends.

Second Life follows just the same trends, and designers like Vikeejeah Xevion of Loovus Dzevavor has become a mistress of working the trends for our virtual fashion world. It's not just about taking the colours and slapping them on any old mesh template - it's about taking the right colours and working them on the right garments that makes Vikee's work outstanding. This dress in Cypress - a smudgy neutral greyish green - is a prime example. It has a classic but throughly modern feel that I love. It's available exclusively at .PENUMBRA. Fashion Week until 22nd September.

I decided to wear it with the new undo from Vanity Hair - the bow is colour change so you can match it exactly to your outfit - or opt for a contrast if you prefer. And this copper and black jewellery set from Zuri is a great complement to the look.

Scroll down for style notes and SLURLs, and have a wonderful weekend!

/me blows kisses!
