One of this season's hot fashion trends is baroque, and as usual, this real world trend has influenced Second Life designers and stylists. When I needed to put a look together for the last Model's Workshop Styling Challenge, it was baroque I decided to try. Baroque is all about opulence, fine fabrics, patterns, embellishments, lace and rich colours, with a historical twist brought right into 2012.
My starting point was actually the jewellery - this is the Hamlet set from Vendome - an elaborate Tudor style lace ruffle collar that frames a gold skull and skeletal hands, paired with gold skull earrings. As the stores gear up for Halloween this seems a perfect seasonal touch! I decided daywear would be more interesting with this than evening, and found this pretty tapestry mesh mini dress at Tram. The unique Sphinx hair from Amacci, long leather boots from Leverocci, a gold clutch from Glow Studio and dramatic nails from Mandala complete the look.
I knew I'd nailed it when a friend declared "Wow! Marie Antoinette meets 2012!" when she saw it!
