Shibari

Shibari is the art of Japanese rope bondage. Meaning literally "to tie" Shibari  is considered as much an art form as a form of erotic play. Ropes are used to create lines and textures that contrast with and emphasise the curves of the body and the softness of the flesh, and knots are often placed at pressure points to enhance the subjects' sensations, inducing a trance like state.

Sorayer Vaher, the designer of Violator, has often drawn on fetish influences in her extreme couture creations, with rope Shibari a recurrent theme. This is Rising Sun Shibari - a fusion of jewellery and bondage that makes the whole body a work of art. It inspired me to get a bit arty for this post, I hope you like my reflections!
