Under a Purple Moon

Elegance, glamour and magic...PurpleMoon, the creation of designer Poulet Koenkamp, is celebrating its second anniversary. It's a wonderful store, with a beautiful range of gorgeous formal gowns, chic casuals, accessories and innovative and unique hairstyles, all at very reasonable prices - the kind of quality you would expect to pay more for, actually. The group gifts are excellent too - it's certainly worth using one of your precious group slots for! Poulet is celebrating the anniversary with the release of a special range of black gowns, a photo contest, a fashion show, a hair sale (finishes TODAY!!) and various special offers and gifts you can find instore. If that isn't enough to get you there, I doubt anything would be. Go! grab this taxi to PurpleMoon Creations

In the first picture I'm wearing the Chok Gown in Magenta, platinum bangles and silver prim nails from PurpleMoon, and Milky Way necklace and earrings from Mandala.

While the gorgeous gowns may be the attention grabber, PurpleMoon also sells some equally finely crafted casuals - my second outfit is a wonderful winter ensemble (I think the heatwave here in London had me yearning for a frost!). I'm wearing Norah Purple Jacket and Tango Tweed Pants in purple from PurpleMoon; Girly Briefcase in lavender from The Secret Store; Minerva necklace in platinum from Gems & Kisses and Love hair (and hat) from 3636.

Red carpet glamour

We took to the red carpet at this weeks styling challenge at the Model's Workshop - a chance to indulge in some sheer, unadulterated glamour.

As a blonde, my show stopping colour is red, and what could be more glorious than this sumptuous satin gown from Azul. Nobody does digital satin like Azul - you can almost feel it slipping over your skin and hear it swishing as you walk. I'm wearing their Loiuse gown base with the sweeping collar from the Canna gown, both in garnet. I love the way the collar frames the face. My shoes (not seen) are strappy sandals from N-Core - Seduction xtreme heels in red passion.

A stunning gown like this needs simple accessories - a gleam of platinum to give a subtle highlight:  the jewellery I'm wearing is all from Gems & Kisses: Hair sticks: Tama; earrings: Miracle of Light,  bracelets: Chen.  I decided against a necklace as the neckline of the gown is so dramatic it can speak for itself.

The messed up updo is from BooN - I wanted to keep the hair fairly unstructured to contrast with the sleekness of the gown, and I went for platinum to keep the cool, silvery contrast with the vibrant red - a shimmering halo, creating an ethereal glow, drawing the eye to my face. The skin is Layla from Glam Affair - my sweet vampire for The Dressing Room, with Layla lipstick in bright red.

Gems & Kisses - Oceane - here comes summer!

There's a lovely new collection in Gems and Kisses this week, perfect for summer. Oceane is a finely crafted collection of 22 mix and match pieces in gold, bronze, azure, lime and turquoise - colours of summer and the sea.

I just had to get down to the beach and try my favorite Oceane pieces with a couple of new bikinis I've picked up this summer.

The first (main picture) I'm wearing the Day Trip Bikini from Kyoot in a striking retro print, great shading makes this bikini a joy to wear. It works perfectly with Oceane bangle A and earrings and necklace E.

The second is Jackie from my favorite retro and rockabilly store Artilleri - this is a special edition produced for The Dressing Room, but there are 4 colour combinations available at the Artilleri mainstore. I matched this with the pretty beaded necklace and earrings Oceane F.

In both pictures I'm wearing hair from BooN - one of my very favorite hair designers - the range is wonderful, from short casual styles like these to the most elaborate updos, tribal tattoo hairbases and dreadlocks.

The whole Oceane collection is for sale at Gems & Kisses as a fatpack of all 22 pieces for only 999L$, pieces can also be purchased individually, priced at just 59-99L$ each. You can buy them here .
